Task Force starts assessment of damage


ISLAMABAD, Feb 13: Deputy Chairman Senate Khalil-ur-Rehman on Sunday said that task force has started assessment of damages caused by heavy rains and flood in different areas of the NWFP.

In his statement, the deputy chairman, who is coordinating relief activities in the NWFP, said that he had talked to the governor, NWFP, who had provided a helicopter to have a view of the damage caused.

Khalil-ur-Rehman said that he had also spoken to the chief minister, NWFP, to get area-wise estimates of the damage. He said that estimates were being compiled and the report would be submitted to PML chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and the Senate. He said that various teams comprising representatives of the areas were visiting the affected places.

The deputy chairman said that he was in touch with these teams so that relief could be provided to the affected people immediately. -APP
