HYDERABAD: Protection for village girl urged

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Feb 13: A group of residents of Kauro Daidano village in the Tando Allahyar area held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday, demanding protection to a woman and withdrawal of a false case filed against her father and some relatives.

They said that the woman, Sughran Shar, had been brought to her father's home because she had been constantly mistreated by her husband and in-laws. They added that her parents were being forced to send her back and, in this respect, a false case had been registered against her father and some relatives.

According to her father Khawand Bukhsh Shar, Sughran was married to Bagh Ali Shar and her husband and in-laws used to beat her up and did not allow her to see her parents.

Mr Khawand Bukhsh told journalists that because of the circumstances, he had moved the Sindh High Court which had allowed him to take custody of his daughter.
