Govt using all resources for rural uplift: Aziz


ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Friday said the government was giving top priority to the development and prosperity of the rural areas and utilizing all available resources to achieve this goal.

He was talking to a delegation from Hasanabdal, headed by Tehsil Nazim Shah Wazir Khan, which called on him here. The prime minister said the government was determined to pass on the benefits of progress and economic growth to the people.

In this regard, he added, the government was implementing special packages in the rural areas that include provision of clean drinking water, basic education, health facilities and steps for poverty alleviation. He said filtration plants were being set up at the district level to save people from water-borne diseases.
