SIALKOT, Feb 11: Twenty four industrial workers and labourers, including women, were seriously injured as an overloaded bus (LRC-618) fell into a ravine on the Daska-Sialkot road near Motra due to speeding during heavy rain on Friday.

Motra police said the bus skidded off the road fell into the ravine. The injured were admitted to Daska, Sialkot and Gujranwala hospitals. Police have registered a case against the fleeing bus driver.

BAJWAT BRIDGE: The district government failed on Friday to rebuild the bridge over the river Tavi near Saidpur Pattan which collapsed three days ago.

The 36-meter long wooden bridge collapsed due to flood in the river as a result of which 85 villages of Bajwat remained cut off from Sialkot district for the third consecutive day on Friday.

The district government officials said water level was rising in all the rivers and seasonal nullahs in the district making it impossible to rebuild the bridge.
