By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Feb 10: Six suspects have been arrested for their alleged involvement in targeting railway tracks, power transmission towers and other installations in different areas of Balochistan.

This was disclosed by the provincial Inspector-General of Police, Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob, while talking to newsmen here on Thursday evening.

"We have arrested four persons in Sibi and two in Khuzdar, who have confessed about their involvement in attacking railway tracks and other installations in different areas," he said.

He identified them as Mohammad Ayub Bugti, Wazir Mohammad Bugti, Ali Hussain Bugti, Ali Baig Bugti, Sahib Jan and Amir Bakhsh.

The IGP said the four arrested from Sibi belonged to Dera Bugti and during initial interrogation they said the plan for attacking government installations was prepared in Dera Bugti.

"They blew up railway line and power transmission towers in Sibi and other areas," he claimed, adding that they had also told the police about their other colleagues who were involved in subversive activities.

He further said that the house where all the four accused were living in Sibi was purchased few days ago on the payment of Rs600,000. "A team of senior police officers is interrogating the accused."

Chaudhry Yaqoob said the two accused arrested from Khuzdar were also involved in rocket attacks and bomb blasts in the area.
