Sectarian harmony stressed

ISLAMABAD, Feb 6: Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq has urged the people to forge unity and work for the integrity and solidarity of the country.

He also called upon Ulema to make concerted efforts for sectarian harmony and support the government to improve law and order situation in the country, particularly during the month of Muharram.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of Ulema from various parts of the country here on Sunday.

The minister urged the people to keep a vigil on the anti- state elements and miscreants who were trying to fan sectarianism, create disunity among the people and wanted to destablize the country.

He said literature, pamphlets or material aimed to create disharmony and sectarianism should be brought to the notice of the government.

The Ulema appreciated the government's measures to root out terrorism and assured the minister of their full support in this regard.-APP
