It's God's will, says Shahbaz

NEW YORK, Feb 6: The leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Shahbaz Sharif, on Sunday confirmed he had indeed married Tehmina Durrani at a private wedding ceremony in Dubai and that Ms Durrani had traveled with him to New York.

In a play on the old adage that marriages are made in heaven, Mr Sharif said: " Jo Allah ko manzur tha wu ho gaya(it was God's will). Its a private matter," he added.

A PML source told Dawn that the PML leader had divorced his second wife Alia, but was still married to his first wife, Nusrat.

Ms Durrani was married to Mr Ghulam Mustafa Khar and became famous with her book "My Feudal Lord".

Mr Sharif is undergoing follow up tests at a New York Hospital required after a life saving abdominal operation.
