LAHORE, Feb 6: Supply of natural gas to the Punjab and the NWFP remained normal on Sunday, as the fresh blast near Dera Ghazi Khan has ruptured only the local line from Dhodak field supplying gas to three local cities.

According to the SNGPL authorities, the Dhodak Gas Field feeds only Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan and Kot Adu. "This local line is mixed with other national distribution lines and has not affected supplies beyond the local network," they added.

Supplies to the Kot Adu Power Company and the other two cities had been affected, but these would be fully restored by Monday (today), they said.

Dhodak is a small field of 40 million cubic feet and has partially affected KAPCO, which otherwise consumes around 70mcf gas. Since it is situated on both lines - Sui and Dhodak - the plant gets gas from the two sources, they added.
