DADU: Police blamed for protecting accused

By Our Correspondent

DADU, Feb 6: Residents of the Sita Road town held a protest demonstration here on Sunday against the investigation police. They were led by Bakhshal Khan, Arshad and Ghulam Murtaza Solangi.

They said 12 days ago three armed men shot dead a shopkeeper, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, and the accused were arrested after Mr Solangi's father lodged an FIR against them with the Rukan police. They, however, alleged that police were trying to release the accused.

The protesters threatened that they would commit suicide if the accused were released. However, when contacted, the DPO, investigation, Tipu Sultan, said no culprit would be released and a charge-sheet against the accused would be presented in the court.

DHAMAL COURT: National Construction Company managing director Dilbar Hasnain has said construction work of the Dhamal court at the shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz will be completed by May 31. He was briefing journalists at the shrine in Sehwan on Sunday. He said Rs12.243 million had been spent in the first phase.
