NAWABSHAH, Feb 5: Members of the Students Action Committee of the Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology have termed the university's second convocation a failure and demanded that the Sindh governor should order an inquiry into alleged malpractices.

Talking to newsmen at the press club here on Saturday, students of the 4-batch, Ali Gohar Chachar, Sami Brohi, Noor Mohammad Baloch and Farhan Domki, criticized the speech of the vice-chancellor and claimed no teacher of the university had been sent to foreign country for Ph.D degree instead they went abroad on their own.

They said Rs140 million were given to the university but no funds had been spent for the development of staff.

They said their classes were not taken and courses of 22 weeks were completed in nine weeks.

They said the students were forced to appear in examinations and when they protested fake cases were registered against them.

They said there was no research work in the university and the administration was doing educational fraud.

They demanded that the Sindh Governor should take notice of the matter and save the prestigious institution by removing the vice chancellor.
