Musharraf, Aziz discuss situation

RAWALPINDI, Feb 4: President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz held a meeting here on Friday and discussed overall political environment and law and order situation in the country with particular reference to Balochistan, an official statement said.

"They exchanged views on the security situation and arrangements being made to protect important national installations in Balochistan as well as political process to ensure peace and harmony there," the statement added.

The two leaders expressed their 'deep disappointment' over postponement of the Saarc summit because of Indian refusal to attend it. Mr Aziz also briefed the president about his visit to Brussels and Davos where he had exchanged views with world leaders as well as important functionaries of the European Union to strengthen trade and economic relations. -APP
