PIA officer relieved

ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: The Pakistan International Airlines on Friday sacked a senior official, deputy managing director of finance, Kaleem Malik.
Well-placed sources said the DMD Finance was fired after intervention of the defence ministry which is reported to be conducting an investigation into a multi-million dollar deal.
The sacking of Mr Malik, it may be mentioned, follows the dismissal of DMD Operations, AVM (retd) Niaz Hussain. When asked about reasons for the sacking, PIA officials said that the post had been abolished and the officer relieved.
