MIANWALI, Feb 4: Students of the Government MC High School demonstrated against the humiliation and thrashing of a teacher by friends and relatives of an expelled student.

While all the government schools in the city remained closed in protest. A delegation of teachers in a meeting with DPO Dr Abdul Kareem Rao demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

The headmaster of the Government MC High School had expelled 9th class student Ahsanullah of Muhallah Mujahid Town on the complaint of class incharge Abdul Ghaffar a few days back. At this, friends and parents of the expelled student threatened the teacher of dire consequences.

On Friday, relatives and friends intercepted SST teacher Ghaffar in the main bazaar and thrashed him severely. The medical report also confirmed injury marks on his body. City police have registered a case against the six accused under Section 506 PPC.
