SUKKUR: 10 held in hunt for kidnappers

By Correspondent

SUKKUR, Jan 30: A large contingent of Jacobabad police raided a number of villages near Kandhkot and arrested 10 people at around Saturday-Sunday midnight, following the kidnapping of two employees of a Shaikh of Abu Dhabi earlier that night from near the Chimni railway crossing.

Reports reaching here said that DPO Jacobabad along with police personnel and APCs followed the track of the kidnappers which led them to the village of Soomar Suhriani.

Police cordoned off the village, set ablaze five houses and arrested the 10 suspects. Later, police also raided the villages of Sajan Suhriani, Ali Gul and Pirhan.

Police sources claimed that Dil Mir and Manzoor, the attendants of the Shaikh, were returning in a Land Cruiser from Sukkur to Rahim Yar Khan after seeing off a guest at Sukkur airport.

When they reached near the Chimni railway crossing, near Kandhkot, they were kidnapped by a group of outlaws. TPO Kandhkot Abdul Sattar Bhutto told newsmen that police were in pursuit of the kidnappers. He said that the gang of outlaw Sajan Suhriani was behind the kidnapping.
