LAHORE: Teachers asked to play role

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Jan 29: Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood has said the government wanted the teachers to play a pivotal role for the implementation of Education Sector Reforms Programme.

He said at a workshop on 'Lesson planning and class management' organized by the Donor Coordination Wing of the Puanjab Education Department here on Saturday the government would welcome the proposals of teachers to modernize curriculum and properly implement the education calendar and manual.

The minister said the success of the government educational development programme and increase in literacy rate depended on the performance and dedication of teachers.

He was of the view that the role of the head teachers should be exemplary and a model to be followed by the subordinate teaching staff.

Chief minister's adviser on education Saadia Shahzad Chaudhry said training of teachers in lesson planning was necessary for reducing their frustration in classroom and improving their performance. Introduction of educational calendar and manual was the first step towards daily lesson planning.
