RAWALPINDI, Jan 29: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Najam Rehan has appreciated the establishment of information desk for traders at Rawalpindi Dry Port.

He said the move would help facilitate the industrialists, manufacturers, exporters and businessmen to improve their trade activities.

The RCCI head also had a meeting with delegates of dry port at his office on Saturday. Mr Rehan lauded the Central Board of Revenue for making the timely decision. This, he said, would solve problems of the business community and encourage them to enhance their export volume.

He said the increase in exports was imperative for the development of the industrial sector and socio-economic uplift of the country. As a result of business-friendly policies of the government, economic activities have increased, he said, adding that businessmen were satisfied with the boom in their trade. He said the record growth in the GDP reflected that the country's economy was on the way to stability. The RCCI chief said it was time to work on small and medium enterprises to develop this sector.
