SUKKUR, Jan 28: The district and sessions judge, Khairpur, Mr Hussain Bux Khoso, on Friday issued notices against the DPO Sukkur, TPO, three SHOs, 45 policemen and a doctor of the Sukkur Civil Hospital to appear in the court on Feb 3.

They have been directed to explain their position about a fake encounter in which two people Shah Dost and Kariman were killed about 16 days back. The judge issued the notices on a petition filed by Ali Bux Jatoi, the cousin of the deceased.

The petitioner maintained Shah Dost was gunned down by unidentified persons in Babarloi town whose body was handed over by the police to Sukkur police while Kariman was arrested alive who was later killed in a fake encounter.

He claimed the post-mortem of Shah Dost was carried out at the rural health center in Garhi Mori. Later Dr Mumtaz Ali carried out the post-mortem again in the Sukkur Civil Hospital to conceal the causes of death to support the police.

He said the case of killing of Shah Dost was already registered at the Babarloi police station which could be certified from the record. After hearing the petitioner's lawyer, the district judge issued notices to parties concerned and asked them to appear before the court on Feb 3.
