HYDERABAD: Unity among Muslims urged

HYDERABAD, Jan 28: Hujjatul Islam Maulana Ghulam Raza Sirewal has said that basic purpose of the Shia Rabita Council is to promote unity among the Muslims and to ensure peace.

He accused the government of providing protection to terrorists and regretted that political parties were maintaining a silence over what he called massacre of members of the Shia community.

He was speaking at "Azadari Convention" held at Qadamgah-i- Maula Ali here on Friday. The Ulema and leaders of the council, Imamia Organization and Imamia Students' Organization attended the convention.

Talib Hussain Shah in his speech stressed the need for unity among the Muslims, saying that the Muslim world was facing threats from all sides. The convention appointed a committee to ensure maintenance of peace during Moharram.
