KARACHI: Probationers call on IGP

KARACHI, Jan 28: A group of 22 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, who were appointed on probation against Shaheed quota, after passing selection examination from the Sindh Public Service Commission called on Inspector General of Police Syed Kamal Shah at Central Police Office here on Friday.

Addressing the young officers, the IGP asked them to prove their mettle and emerge as daring, honest and dutiful officers. Sheer dedication and patriotism were the two major tools, which could transform police into a public-friendly force, he said.

He said that police officers who were performing their duties according to their oath would get great honour both in this world and the world hereafter. He informed them that 100 posts of ASI's had been sanctioned against Shaheed quota. After induction of this batch, he said, the remaining posts would be filled in phases.

Kamal Shah said that a number of welfare steps were under consideration for the families and heirs of police officials, who were martyred on duty. These included payment of salary to the family till the age of retirement of a martyred policeman and allotment of land to the family, he added. -APP
