KARACHI: Report on historic buildings reviewed

KARACHI, Jan 28: A meeting of the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Sindh Department of Culture and Tourism on Friday decided to chalk out an appropriate strategy under which public opinion would be sought regarding heritage buildings.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Sindh Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani, reviewed the report of the technical sub-committee on 14 historical buildings, including Wasia Mal Mansion, UBL Building, Habib Fida Ali Building, Sir Abdullah Haroon Building and Taj Chamber.

The meeting decided that the minutes would be submitted to the advisory committee on national heritage for implementation and review. Speaking to the meeting, the chief secretary called upon the government officials and staff to adopt transparency at all levels for an effective and productive outcome. -PPI
