NSTCC courts to get face-lift

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is to make three existing practice courts at the National Sports Training and Coaching Centre (NSTCC) in Karachi fit for competition while two new ones will be added.

Brig. Arif Mahmud Siddiqui, Director General of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) said on Thursday that back walls of the three existing courts would be broken and replaced with glass walls.

"Wooden floors will also be installed so that competitions could be organised at the venue," Arif said. A PC-I has already been submitted and work is likely to begin soon.

Meanwhile, the PSB Executive Committee meeting held here on Wednesday discussed ways to bring the flood-hit courts at the Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex in Rawalpindi back to shape.

The courts were rendered useless by floods that hit Rawalpindi more than two years ago. There are five courts which are waiting for attention of the relevant authorities but no progress seems to have been made and players continue to suffer.
