ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has approved a project of Rs30 million to strengthen the faculty of agriculture at Rawalakot, University of AJ&K.
In this regard, a project submitted by the university costing has been approved in the HEC's Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP), said an official statement. The major objectives of the scheme are launching of postgraduate programmes on regular basis in five to six disciplines for the promotion of science & technology.
Under the scheme, a library will be set up at the faculty of agriculture with the aim to provide easy access to the latest journals and to create a facility of having conferences and seminars with multipurpose hall in the same building for around 400 students.
The scheme would strengthen and facilitate the faculty, laboratory, field staff and provide optimum level of teaching aids in each teaching department. It would also decentralize the administrative & financial powers for smooth, prompt running and functioning of teaching & research activities.
