Hashmi wants united front

LAHORE, Jan 27: Central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, has asked people to asses the Balochistan issue in the context of former East Pakistan.

He said any attempt to mobilize army for solving the Balochistan issue would further aggravate the situation. He was talking to PML-N's leaders and workers during his appearance in the NAB Court here on Thursday.

Khwaja Saad Rafique, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Haji Hanif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Saba Sadiq, Kamran Majeeb and Naushad Hameed were present on the occasion.

He urged the opposition parties to form a united front, outside parliament, to protect the country's geographical frontiers. He said the military had no role in politics as during its rule the country always suffered a loss.

The Wana operation and the situation in Gilgit and Balochistan were testimony to its failure in tackling complex situations.
