KARACHI, Jan 27: A man and a woman were found killed in separate incidents in different parts of the city on Thursday.
Police said Fayyaz Ali Mirani, 24, resident of Gulshan-i-Hadeed, went missing on Wednesday. The police found his corpse in the morning at an isolated place on Tanki Road in the locality.
The body was sent to a hospital where the doctors said the victim received a bullet in the head and died instantly. The police could not find the motive for the killing or clue to the killers immediately.
In the other incident, people in Gulistan-i-Jauhar in the limits of Sharea Faisal police informed the fire brigade that a fire had broken out in an apartment of Arif Pride, a residential complex.
The police and fire brigade reached the spot, put out the fire and found Sajida Aslam, 30, killed. Her body was saved from the fire. Police said Sajida had three children and all were in their schools at the time of the incident.
Police also suspected that Sajida was raped and beaten before being strangled. Having killed Sajida, the killers set the house on fire and fled, the police believed.
MYSTERIOUS DEATH: A cousin of the chief of the Muttahida Quami Movement died in mysterious circumstances in his house in the Mubina Town police limits on Thursday. The family told the police that Fawad Ahmed, 27, slept in his room and did not get up in the morning.
The family took him to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Later, the body was brought to Civil Hospital for autopsy, where the post-mortem examination was being conducted late in the night. Fawad was a cousin of Altaf Hussain, the MQM chief, and also the brother-in-law of Asrar Hussain, Altaf's brother.
