KARACHI, Jan 27: Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saeeda Malik on Thursday urged students to concentrate on their studies because they had to lead the country which was only possible if they excelled in their studies.

Speaking at an inter-faculty Urdu debate competition held at Madinat-ul-Hikmat, she said no nation could achieve prosperity if it lacked the virtues of honesty and hard work.

"Education does not come to an end once a degree is obtained. We will have to work together for prosperity of Pakistan as young students of today are to lead the people in future," she said.

"The government is focusing on education and health," she added. She distributed prizes among the winners of the competition. Sir Syed College's Maria Abdullah and Najma Sehar and St. Joseph College's Shumaila secured first, second and third positions respectively. A special prize was given to Madiha of Bahria College. -PPI
