No scanning of pilgrims' baggage

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 26: The Central Board of Revenue has exempted the luggage of the incoming Hujjaj from the process of checking and scanning at airports.

An official announcement issued on Wednesday said instructions had been issued to all collectors of customs that the baggage of Hujjaj should not be scanned or checked and they should be provided all help in customs clearance at airports.

The collectors have also been advised to depute a senior supervisory officer to extend maximum help and courtesy and ensure a hassle-free environment. The concession by the government would lead to facilitation of Hujjaj and expeditious clearance of their baggage.

The facility was announced on the occasion when the customs was celebrating International Customs Day.
