SIALKOT, Jan 26: The Kenyan government would provide every assistance to the Pakistani exporters.
This was stated by Kenyan High Commissioner David A. Mutemi at a meeting of local exporters at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Wednesday afternoon after a visit to the various leading industrial units.
Commercial attach Bramah L. Kaleve, second secretary Reuben N. Mengich of Kenyan high commission in Islamabad and SCCI vice-president Shafiqur Rehman were also present on the occasion.
Mr Mutemi offered direct trade relations to businessmen and said Kenya would make adequate efforts for further developing and strengthening the mutual trade relations between the two countries by removing all the hurdles from the way.
He was all praise for goods prepared in Sialkot. He said Sialkot exporters have a great potential to explore and capture the markets of Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Mr Rehman urged the high commissioner to motivate Kenyans to invest in Sialkot export processing zone (EPZ) to benefit from the exceptional incentives and facilities available here.
He said Kenyan firms could set up joint ventures with Sialkot based companies in the field of sports, surgical and leather goods and musical instruments and information technology.
INQUIRY: High-ranking police officials continued the investigation into murder of seven members of a family on Wednesday. However, they could not find any clue to the killers and motive behind the incident.
A special investigation team, headed by SP (investigation) Ali Ahmad Sabir Kiyani, collected finger prints of the suspects from the house at Model Town where seven members of a family, including three women, were found slaughtered. Mr Kiyani told newsmen that the police were using scientific methods of investigation and the mystery would be solved soon.
