SARGODHA, Jan 26: A case was registered against a police inspector and a constable on the orders of the Lahore High Court for implicating an innocent citizen in a dacoity and abduction case and snatching Rs600,000.

The court issued the directive on a writ petition filed by one Sughran Bibi. The petitioner contended that Inspector Ghulam Abbas and Constable Safdar kidnapped her and her relative Muhammad Sadiq on Nov 9 last and implicated him (Sadiq) in fake cases. The policemen compelled her and Sadiq for compromise with their opponent.

The court summoned the Sargodha DPO and after hearing the parties ordered him to register a case against the police officials within 12 hours and report to the court.

The DPO also suspended both the police officials from service after registration of a case under sections 365, 392, 348 PPC and 156 of Police Order, 2002. However, no arrest has so far been reported.

MURDER: One Naheed was killed in Moazamabad village, some 40 kilometres from here, by her brother Suhail Murtaza on Wednesday afternoon. Kot Momin police have registered a case.

STRIPPED: A woman was stripped publicly by five men in Bhalwal. 'K' was stripped off by Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Rafiq, Khizar Hayat, Asif and their accomplice when she was returning after appearing in a court against them.

Bhalwal police did not register a case against accused as they were reported to be the influential people. However, the victim moved the court of the additional district and sessions judge who directed police to register a case.

Meanwhile, in another incident, Akhtar and Tasawar Shah entered the house of Naveed in Mari village and beat up his mother and sister who reportedly reprimanded them for eve teasing.
