GUJRAT: Robbers active in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Jan 26: Participants in a marriage ceremony, two houses and several passers-by were robbed in and around the city on Wednesday.

Four gunmen intercepted a marriage procession near Bhota village and collected a huge amount of cash and gold jewellery. The robbers did not even spare the groom.

Later, they robbed the house of Mazhar and his neighbour. They escaped with the booty worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in the three strikes. Five robbers erected a barricade near Kotla Arab Ali Khan and deprived councillor Inayat of his motorcycle and Rs10,000 in cash.

They drove away with the motorcycle of a youth of Sher Garh village. Three bandits took cash and valuables from Riaz, Arshad, Altaf and other passers-by in Sariya Bazaar.
