SAHIWAL, Jan 25: Harappa police on Tuesday registered a case against seven accused for kidnapping the wife and children of a Government High School Naib Qasid after a delay of 36 days.
Carrying out the Punjab IGP orders, the police have also recovered the abductees.
Accused brothers - Shahbaz Ahmed, Shahid and Tahir along with their accomplices Binyamin, Fakhar, Zulfiqar and Ghulam Hussain barged into Sultan Ahmed's house at Chak Muhammadpur on Dec 8. The accused kidnapped Nazeeran, daughters Tasleem, Sumaira and sons Shahbaz and Afzal. The Naib Qasid was not present at the time of the incident.
The police had not registered a case against the influential accused despite repeated complaints made by Sultan. At this, he reported the matter to the IGP who ordered the registration of a case against the accused. In any case, no arrest has so far been made.
DEMOS: The country-wide protest demonstrations will be held on Jan 28 against the removal of religion column from passports.
