HYDERABAD: Rickshaw driver killed in accident

HYDERABAD, Jan 24: The driver of a rickshaw was killed after a bus hit the rickshaw at the Sakhi Pir Chowk here on Monday. The deceased was identified as Babu Din, a resident of Liaquat Colony. Police have impounded the bus and arrested driver Shahnawaz.

Meanwhile, three irrigation officials, Aslam Rajput, Abdul Rehman and Abdullah Memon, were injured when their jeep was hit by a Mirpurkhas-bound train near Khesana Mori. They were taken to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital in a critical condition.

REMAND: The judicial magistrate-II of Hyderabad on Monday extended the remand of a girl, Safia, in police custody by two days in the murder case of her mother, being investigated by the Market police.

The girl was booked in the case on the complaint of her stepfather, Saindad Kalhoro, a policeman, after his wife, Naseem, and four children were found murdered in Sarfaraz Colony on Jan 16.
