TAXILA: TMA fails to remove encroachments

By Our Correspondent

TAXILA, Jan 23: The Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has failed to remove encroachments from various roads, markets and bazaars of the city. The encroachers have occupied Taxila Chowk, Mughal market, Faisal Shaheed and railway roads.

As a result frequent traffic jam in these areas has become a common feature. On the railway road, traders are displaying their goods at the footpaths and even encroaching on road.

EID CELEBRATED: Eidul Azha was celebrated in Taxila and Wah Cantonment with religious fervour on Friday. The biggest congregation was held at the main mosque of Wah Cantonment where high-ranking civil and military officials joined thousands of other faithful to offer the Eid prayers.

After Eid prayers, the people offered sacrifice of animals and distributed meat among the deserving. People also visited the graves of their near and dear ones to offer Fateha for the departed souls.
