NEW YORK, Jan 23: Pakistan International Airlines has been sued in the New York Supreme Court by a local travel agency which charged the airlines with "discrimination" in confirming seats of its clients
by promoting its competition unfairly and causing millions of dollars in losses.
In the court documents, the Fly time Travel and Tours Inc has demanded compensatory damages of 10 million dollars and has asked the court to prevent the airline from "intentional discrimination" and to ask the airline "to treat all travel agents equally and fairly on first come first serve basis."
The Fly time Travel Inc has charged that PIA office in New York manually overrides the automated seat confirmation by giving preference to agents and sub-agents which it promotes.
A spokesman for the PIA denied the charges filed by the agency saying that the airline does not discriminate against travel agencies nor does it promote one against the other.
