ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: The parliamentary committee on Balochistan has finalized its recommendations and its report will be submitted to the government by Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in a few days , a PML leader said on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued here, PML Media Coordinator Syed Tabish Alwari said that the report included important recommendations for the development of Balochistan and necessary measures for redressing its feeling of deprivation.

The committee headed by Chaudhry Shujaat had set up a sub-committee led by PML Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, which finalized its report on Tuesday.

The committee comprising members from the treasury and opposition benches held discussions with representatives of all the sections of the society in Balochistan, the statement said.

Mr Alwari said some elements were trying to sabotage development in Balochistan and they also tried to disrupt the proceedings of the committee. He said the recent attack on Sui installations, provocative statements and propaganda about army action in Balochistan reflected the nefarious designs of anti-state elements which did not want development and prosperity in the province.

He said the government had started development projects in Balochistan at a cost of Rs130 billion and it wanted to remove all misunderstandings and misperceptions in the province.

He said the government would not allow anyone to disrupt the process of development in Balochistan and ensure protection of the installations at all costs. He said that saboteurs should not consider the reconciliation policy of the government as a sign of its weakness.
