Concern over situation in Balochistan

NAWABSHAH, Jan 18: Activists of the Pakistan People's Party-SB observed a token hunger strike in Nawabshah and Hyderabad and the Khaksar Tehrik took out a procession in Larkana on Tuesday to express concern over the Balochistan situation.
The PPP-SB activists observed hunger strike outside the press here against the proposed operation in Balochistan and a reported criminal assault on a lady doctor. The protesters, led by district PPP-SB president Ali Gul Keerio, said democratic people would oppose the operation.
They said the PPP-SB would continue its struggle for rights of people. Meanwhile, former Bolan District Council chairman Sardarzada Sher Mohammad Rind told journalists that a military operation in Balochistan would harm the integrity of the country.
He said the all the issues could be resolved through negotiations. He accused the government of taking measures which would be disastrous for the people of Balochistan. Mr Rind also demanded arrest of the culprits who are reported to have assaulted the lady doctor.
HYDERABAD: A group of activists of the PPP (SB) and its youth and student wings observed a token hunger strike outside the local press club against a reported plan for an operation in Balochistan.
Talking to journalists on the occasion, PPP-SB leader Peeral Majidano said that the operation would have dangerous consequences and aggravate the situation in the province.
LARKANA: Workers of the Khaksar Tehrik took out a procession here in protest against any army action in Balochistan. Tarique Masood Mughal led the protest procession which started from the Gajanpur area and ended at the Empire Road.
Leaders of the KTP urged the government to stop imposing decisions at gunpoint and opposed any army operation in Balochistan for it was not the solution of the problem.
