By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 18: The Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has proposed joint venture investments in various sectors between Pakistan and Kyrgzstan.

The proposal was made by ICCI President Tariq Sadiq while speaking at a function organized for the visiting Kyrgyz President Askar Akaev here on Tuesday.

He stated that although the bilateral trade between the two countries did not reflect the potential that existed, there were vast opportunities for joint venture investments by Pakistani entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan.

Mr Sadiq urged the Pakistani businessmen to enter into joint venture investments in textiles, leather craft, foundry and steel fabrication, tannery processing with their Kyrgyz counterparts. He said Kyrgyzstan offered both raw materials such as iron scrap, 60,000 tons of annual raw wool production and cotton ginning and raw hides and skins.
