No military operation planned: CM

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 17: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf has said that no military operation has been launched in any part of the province nor is there any plan for such an action.

Talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League, Turbat chapter, here on Monday the chief minister, however, made it clear that protection of national assets, life and property of people and rule of law were above everything else.

An official statement issued after the meeting quoted the chief minister as saying that the parliamentary committee on Balochistan would submit its report in three days. He asked the political parties to help the government in its efforts to improve the law and order situation in the province, particularly in Sui.

He said the government wanted to resolve all provincial problems in a democratic manner and added that the coalition partners in his government had held in-depth discussion on the issue before the federal government was approached to help improve the situation at Sui. The chief minister said that seeking the centre's assistance was aimed at improving the security situation.
