Former PPP leader rejoins party

By Our Corresondent

TIMERGARAH, Jan 17: Ahmed Hasan Khan, provincial president of Pakistan People's Party (Sherpao), has rejoined the mainstream Pakistan People's Party.

Mr Khan, a former law minister, who had joined hands with Mr Sherpao after a split in the PPP, resigned from the Sherpao group and joined his old party on Sunday.

PPP provincial secretary general Najmuddin Khan was also present on the occasion. PPP provincial chief Rahimdad Khan, PPP provincial senior-vice president Qamar Abbas, Syed Ayub Shah and Khwaja Yawar Naseer and others welcomed his return to the party folds. They said that PPP other leaders and workers who had left the party would soon rejoin the party.

Rahimdad Khan said people knew that the mainstream PPP was the only political force which could steer the country out of present chaos and uncertainty. The PPP was opposed to the military rule and would continue its peaceful struggle for the restoration of real democracy in the country.
