Joint survey on Sir Creek completed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17: The Foreign Office on Monday announced that Pakistan and India had completed ahead of schedule the joint survey on the Sir Creek boundary pillars.

Foreign Office spokesman Masood Khan told his weekly press briefing that the survey for the verification of existing boundary pillars along the horizontal segments in Sir Creek, which had commenced on Jan 5, had been completed. Eight teams each from Pakistan and India had participated in the survey.

"The teams cooperated with each other and completed the task successfully and expeditiously," he said. The spokesman said that survey officials were preparing a joint statement which would be studied by experts on both sides and deliberated further in the next round of talks on the Sir Creek issue.-APP
