JOHANNESBURG, Jan 16: Pace bowler Jonathan Lewis is flying to South Africa as cover for England's injury-hit bowling attack.

England media manager David Clarke said on Sunday the Gloucestershire player, who has yet to play for England at one-day or Test level, would arrive on Monday ahead of the fifth and final Test at Centurion starting on Friday.

Lewis was the official fast bowling stand-by for the touring squad and has been training at the national academy in the off-season. Main strike bowler Steve Harmison suffered a calf strain and could not bowl on the fourth day of the fourth Test in Johannesburg on Sunday but Clarke said he had not yet been ruled out of the tour and might bowl on Monday.

Swing bowler James Anderson was wayward in South Africa's first innings while Simon Jones, left out of the fourth test line-up, has a sore back. All- rounder Andrew Flintoff suffered a side strain in the last test but is playing at the Wanderers and left-arm spinner Ashley Giles also dislocated his thumb in South Africa's first innings but is fit to bowl. The five-match series is drawn at 1-1. -Reuters
