KHAIRPUR, Jan 15: Two protest demonstrations were held against Hesco by residents of Khanpur and Kot Laloo on Saturday. Villagers of Khanpur, Kingri taluka, held a demonstration in Pir-Jo-Goth.

Their representatives told journalists that company officials had disconnected power supply to the Khanpur village and its surrounding villages because Hesco dues were outstanding against some houses in the area.

Residents of Kot Laloo, Faiz Ganj taluka, held a demonstration at Kot Laloo Chowdagi and blocked a road by staging a sit-in. They complained that power supply to their village was suspended after a transformer went out of order one week ago but the transformer had not been repaired as yet.

DEMO: Residents of 10 villages of the Kingri taluka held a demonstration outside the press club here on Saturday. Talking to journalists, the protesters regretted that their children could not get education because schools in their areas were lying closed for three years.

The protesters hailed from Imam Bux Narejo, Mulan Ghulam Ali Narejo, Panjal Narejo, Haji Melo Khan Kalhoro, Khanai Narejo, Tagyal Kalhoro, Haji Khan Kalhoro and Haji Imam Bux villages.
