Saarc summit

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, Jan 15: The government of Bangladesh has started fresh preparations for the 13th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, now scheduled to be held in Dhaka on Feb 6 and 7.

Last month's tsunami disaster had forced the postponement of the summit, earlier scheduled for Jan 9-11. "It is a happy development as we are finally holding the summit.

We have got the go-ahead from the chairperson," a spokesman for Bangladesh's foreign ministry informed journalists at his office on Saturday. "All preparations for the belated summit resumed on Friday."
