Load shedding of gas in Sindh and Balochistan

KARACHI, Jan 14: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Friday announced that the protracted closure of the Sui purification plant has resulted in a significant reduction in the supply of gas across the country.

A Sui Southern Gas Company spokesman said although the SSGC had tried to manage the distribution of gas to its customers in Sindh and Balochistan, the pipeline stock or line pack was now getting depleted.

This had necessitated adoption of urgent measures to restrict the supply of gas to domestic as well as industrial customers. The Sui Southern Gas Company announced that the supply of gas would either be reduced or remain suspended daily, with effect from Jan 15, 2005, as per given schedule:

From 8am to 11am

From 1pm to 5pm

From 10pm to 5am

This gas load management programme will affect Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Larkana, Quetta, Pishin, Mastung and Ziarat. -APP
