RAWALPINDI: Two policemen suspended for quarrelling

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Jan 12: District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Moravat Ali Shah suspended two policemen, alleged to be drunk, for quarrelling over investigating a couple.

According to a source, inquiry has been ordered against Inspector Mian Yasin and ASI Sheikh Ikram for their behaviour.

Superintendent of Police Saddar Circle Inayatullah Farooqi has been appointed the inquiry officer. A couple, whose identity is not known, was taken into custody by ASI Sheikh Ikram from Raja Bazaar.

When the couple was taken to the CIA centre, the ASI and Inspector Mian Yasin started quarrelling as to who would investigate the couple. On seeing them quarrelling, the couple managed to escape.

A senior police officer said they kicked, punched and tore each other's clothes as they were drunk. The Muharrar tried to stop them, but failed, he added.
