LAHORE: Watercourse lining project slow

By Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Jan 13: Work on lining of watercourses in the Punjab is slow and a report in this regard has been sent to Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.

This was claimed by Punjab Minister for Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) Col Shuja Khanzada (retired). He said that some 22 new water courses were to be built in Rahim Yar Khan, but only eight had been completed while the rest were under construction.

Similarly, he said around 20 water courses were to be built under the Accelerated Programme but only nine had been completed and work on the remaining had just been started.

He said the departments concerned provided funds very late and caused the delay. The delay had been noticed and those found guilty would be punished.
