KARACHI: Sea festival to be held every year: Ibad


KARACHI, Jan 12: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has declared Sindh Festival as an annual event to represent Sindh as Basant represents Punjab. He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the third annual Sindh Sea festival.

He complimented the efforts of all participating agencies and sponsors. He also praised Zoheb Hasan on his dedication and hard work for making this festival a success. The activities at Sindh Sea Festival this year included an exciting Pakistan Navy Air and Sea Show, a Sindh Sea Festival Parade, Boxing, Body Building, a Sailing Regatta, Beach Volleyball, firework display, Music festival, food street etc.

The exhibition pavilions included PSO, Export Processing Zone Authority, Sindh Small Industries Corporation, Karachi Zoo, Sindh Wildlife, Environment Protection Agency, KPT and others.

The theme for the year's event was 'Save the Environment' and the Green Turtle was chosen as this year's mascot. Funds were also raised for the benefit of the Tsunami disaster victims.

The Chief Organizer Zohaib Hasan thanked the Sindh Government, the City District Government Karachi and other participating government departments for their unprecedented support of the event. Commander Karachi, Sindh Minister for Culture and high ranking government officials and foreign delegates were also present. -PPI
