Construction of Kalabagh dam not to be allowed: ANP

By Our Correspondent

SWABI, Jan 11: Provincial general secretary of Awami National Party Farid Toofan said on Monday that the MMA and the PML-Q including President Pervez Musharraf had a secret understanding and the so-called differences between them were only for diverting the attention of the people from the real problems.

Talking to journalist here, he said both the ruling party and the MMA had been misleading the masses. In fact, he said, they were in league with each other, saying one thing to the people and doing the other. He demanded that politics and religion should be kept apart and those who were using religion for their political purposes should be rejected by the masses.

About the controversial Kalabagh dam he said no one would be allowed to move for its construction and those who wanted to disperse the Pukhtuns and harm their interest were living in fool's paradise. The ANP, he said, had already declared that the Kalabagh dam was against the interest of the Pukhtun Community.
