PSF names squad for Chennai

ISLAMABAD, Jan 10: Pakistan on Monday named four boys and as many girls for participation in this month's Asian junior squash championship.

The championship, featuring both boys and girls individual as well as team events, is scheduled to be played at Chennai (India) from Jan 20 to 28.

According to official intimation of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), the boys selected for the tournament are Aamir Atlas Khan, Bilal Zaman, Aqib Hanif and Alamzeb.

Aamir makes a comeback into the Pakistan junior fold after PSF, citing disciplinary grounds, left him out of the squad that won gold medals in all but one of the four age categories at the British junior squash championship at Sheffield last week.

The girls selected for Chennai trip are Sara Awan, Maria Toor Pakae, Aliya Sarfraz and Zoya Khalid. The national junior squash coach Rehmat Khan will accompany the Chennai-bound squad while Tahir Jamil Khanzada, secretary Sindh Squash Association, will be the manager. -APP
