By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 9: Police have established contact with Dr Shazia Khalid in Karachi and recorded her statement on the incident that occurred in Sui last week.

A press note issued by the provincial government here on Sunday night reported progress in the Dr Shazia assault case.

"Initially, contact could not be established with the victim because of the unavailability of the lady doctor's address," the press note said. The administration and police had succeeded in establishing contact with the affected doctor and recorded her statement regarding the incident, it said.

In view of Dr Shaiza's statement, police had speeded up its investigation and efforts were underway to arrest all the accused involved in the incident, the press note said.
