PFF plans to register clubs and players
By Our Sports Correspondent
LAHORE, Jan 6: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has planned to register clubs and players to maintain a record of registration of departments and transfer of players.
A PFF spokesman said interested clubs should apply on a prescribed form before Jan 20, 2005 for registration. No club would be considered affiliated with any district association or the PFF after expiry of the last date.
Those clubs which had players without registration would not be eligible to vote or compete at any level. A club would prepare three forms to send one each to its district, provincial association and the PFF with a draft of Rs1,000 with each form.
Asked how clubs would give Rs 3,000 annually, the spokesman said the amount was meagre and it was the best way to eliminate bogus clubs. Similarly, the PFF affiliated departments and departmental teams like Wapda, Army, Habib Bank, Afghan Club Chaman, National Bank and others would send the list of minimum 25 and maximum of 40 players along with registration fee of Rs10,000 for departments and Rs5,000 for clubs by Jan 15.
Only exceptional cases will be allowed to transfer from club to club and department to department for which transfer fee fixed for club to club is Rs 2,000, club to department Rs5,000 and department to department Rs10,000.
